Why this verdict

Framework threads always split in two: people who want a machine they can repair, and people who wanted a MacBook and are angry they did not get one. We discarded the second pile. Inside the first, the 2026 AMD mainboard has a quieter suspend/resume thread than the 2024 Intel board, and the hinge/bezel QC complaints are not clustering. Sample size is smaller than phone or headphone scans — treat confidence as medium.

What buyers repeat

  • Repairability is the product, and it still is

Battery, ports, and mainboard swaps are the 5-star proof, not a marketing line. That pattern has not faded.

  • AMD board sleeps

Lid-close resume is no longer the first complaint. That used to be the Wait case on the Intel board.

  • Keyboard and trackpad are “fine, finally”

Not a MacBook. Reviewers who wanted Framework and not Apple now stop mentioning input devices. That is progress.

Where the 1-stars cluster

  • Windows on this BIOS is still a weekend

Driver and firmware oddities remain. If you want zero-thought ownership, this is the wrong laptop.

  • Display is good, not stunning

A consistent 4-star hedge. Matte 13-inch 2.8K is plenty. It will not convert OLED-seekers.

Bottom line

Call

Buy if a repairable 13-inch is why you are here. Skip if you wanted MacBook-smooth ownership and never want to think about a driver. Medium confidence because the sample is still hundreds, not thousands.
